Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the improved provision of essential skills, training and employability services and upskilling existing young employees. Further direct benefits include pastoral care, personal development and support arrangements for trainees and apprentices with opportunities to develop occupational skills
and wider employability skills. These benefits can be demonstrated through learner and employer evaluations which have been consistently positive. Further evidence are the performance statistics which are above targets set by DfE and indeed achievements and progression over all frameworks and essential skills have been “outstanding” at 100% over the past four years. Monitoring visits by DfE and ESF this year on compliance etc. have been outstanding. Feedback from the various awarding bodies has also been consistently good. The most recent inspection by the Education and Training Inspectorate reported achievements and standards over all frameworks were “good”. Some learners have also been highly commended by DfE after being nominated by tutors. There is no harm arising from our purposes. The beneficiaries are young people in need of assistance for development and gaining the skills to maintain and progress in employment. There are no private benefits accruing to any unintended beneficiaries which would be more than incidental to the carrying out of the purposes, for example, the training of skilled staff by local employers is a necessary by-product of our successes and is incidental to the purposes.
What your organisation does
LTS is currently contracted by DFE to deliver the Apprenticeship Programme. Frameworks delivered include Retail, Customer Service, Warehousing, Business Administration, Team-leading, Management, Catering and Hospitality at levels 2 and 3. Essential skills, (Communication, Number and ICT) is also delivered to compliment these frameworks. The office
is now based in Belfast and apprenticeships are delivered province-wide with the aid of a team of flexible outreach tutors. LTS has in the past delivered other Programmes such as Training for Success, Steps to Work for unemployed adults as a lead and sub-contractor and carried out IFI and ESF Programmes. LTS is an approved CCEA, and ICQ Centre.
