Public benefits
The public will benefit from access to a community hub and the opportunity to take part in educational and recreational programmes and projects delivered within our community. Through these programmes and projects our organisation aims to help reduce isolation; increase available information; improve health and well-being, improve mental health
and provide education and skills based training. There will be an opportunity to access services from Statutory agencies through advice clinics on issues such as benefits, crime prevention, housing, drug and alcohol abuse, sign posting. Increasing information for local residents. The benefits can be identified through a community which is more engaged, responsive and has a pride in their area. Through our organisations inter-agency meetings there is an opportunity to directly address community issues with the appropriate agency, which are recorded and follow up actions are monitored. Throughout the year our organisation holds events, aimed at reducing isolation, providing an opportunity to develop and gain new friendships. There is no harm arising from our purposes. The beneficiaries are residents in the Milltown Village area of Derriaghy, Lisburn. Our organisation does not charge for services and none of our committee/trustees will obtain any private benefit from our purposes other than gaining qualifications or skills based training through taking part in programmes and projects. Any benefit is coincidental.
What your organisation does
We seek to provide a holistic service provision for those who are marginalised in that they are either no longer accessing services which may be able to meet their needs. Examples of this would be young mothers, lone parents, low income families, elderly, vulnerable young adults and the disabled. We engage with residents who fall outside the
statutory provisions of the area, through accredited and non accredited programmes whilst promoting social welfare interest such as recreation and improving life conditions. We deliver programmes which are community lead whilst working together with statutory agencies to build relationships, build community capacity, improve employment opportunities, improve community safety, improve health & safety and through peer relations pass on knowledge to children and young people.
