are to promote cross community peace building and respect or cultural diversity by connecting people to collaborate and build relationships cross community, cross border and between other regions of Europe through educational and thematic study visits, European partnerships and projects and providing cultural awareness training. The direct benefits that flow from the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity are to promote understanding of how culture shapes how we act and behave and how misunderstandings arise when we misinterpret different cultural behaviours. Training provides the knowledge, skills and expertise to build relationships, communicate effectively across cultures and promote acceptance and respect for diversity. The benefits can be demonstrated through the number of publications produced and distributed, advice provided on citizen’s rights, participant numbers and feedback from workshops, training, study visits, seminars and events. The possibility of any harm arising from participation in study visits e.g. personal or physical injury while travelling or on site visits during study visits is outweighed by the benefit of connecting cross community, cross border and between other regions of Europe regions to share expertise and knowledge. Any harm is significantly reduced by policies/procedures in place to address risks, e.g. Risk management, safeguarding and child protection policy, health and safety policy, code of conduct for staff and volunteers.
