Public benefits
The public benefit flowing from our purposes is that the residents of Duneane Parish and surrounding districts have access to a Centre where they can meet for a variety of educational and recreational activities. The Centre is open to people of all ages. The elderly benefit by having somewhere to meet, reminisce thereby avoiding loneliness and
social isolation. The young people benefit from being able to participate in a community youth club. They benefit from meeting with their peers, engaging in positive and fun activities. Those who attend the courses and classes benefit by learning new skills in a community setting which means they do not have to travel outside their local area for similar activities. The Bowling club benefit by having a area where they can practice and hold tournaments where visiting teams can make use of the community hall. More than 60 children between the ages of 4 and 18 benefit from having a venue where they can learn and practice Irish Dancing. Up to 30 young people benefit each week from karate classes and local women benefit from their keep fit club which is held in the hall. The local GAA club benefits from being able to use the indoor facility for exercise and training and the local parents benefit by using the venue for their parent and toddler club. All these events have a range of health, education and welfare benefits. The benefits are measured by the number of organisations using the premises, the number of participants at all events and the feedback obtained from beneficiaries. There is no private benefit flowing from any purposes except for payment to speakers or tutors which is necessary to sustain activities. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Moneyglass Community Centre.
