What your organisation does
The ASU has a yearly cycle of activities which involves mounting a number of public fine art exhibitions; providing a series of life drawing classes for members and the public; arranging visits to art galleries and major art exhibitions in the island of Ireland; arranging art demonstrations and talks by well known Irish artists. The ASU main
summer exhibition is also open to submissions from non-members. A number of prizes (which attract financial awards) are given by the ASU at this exhibition. The ASU also supports young local artists by awarding prizes (certificate and monetary) to A level and AS students chosen by the ASU committee each year from the True Colours exhibition held at the Ulster Museum by the CCEA of outstanding examination candidates each year. These young people are also eligible for a year's free membership of the ASU.
