Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from purposes 1-5 include the increase in education and training opportunities for those with special needs which may lead to better lives and empowerment. These benefits will be demonstrated through active participation in innovative learning programmes which focus on music and creativity and personal development.
This will also include active community participation in outreach activities and showcase events. The charity's beneficiaries are those with special needs.
What your organisation does
Something Special Academy will empower those with disabilities, through education programmes, music and the creative arts. Through such programmes, the charity will endeavour to transform lives through inclusive, creative and innovative projects which will lead to highly effective partnerships sharing the same goal.

Charitable purposes
The Charity's objects are to promote and advance the welfare, education and enablement of people with special needs in Northern Ireland and elsewhere and in particular to: - (1) Advance education, training and personal development by: (i) providing accredited and non-accredited courses and other educational activities which assist in developing skills, capacities and capabilities; (ii) providing imaginative and progressive music and performing arts activities which stimulate learning and are participative, empowering and expressive. (2) Provide facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation for children and adults with special needs and their families, friends and carers with the object of improving their conditions of life. (3) Organise activities, events, projects and initiatives that: (i) promote social integration, equal access and participation; (ii) provide support, information and respite care to family members and carers of people with special needs. (4) Advance community development by providing facilities and support to voluntary and community groups. (5) Engage with, promote co-operation among, and establish strategic partnerships between groups, organisations and agencies in the community & voluntary and statutory sectors.
