1. To promote the benefit of and to develop the capacity and skills of the inhabitants of Lagmore... The direct benefits which flow from this includes, a more confident community for example, we recently ran a cook it project, which included healthy eating on a budget. Following this people are more aware of how to budget, and provide healthy

meals for their family.It also provided social interaction between local residents and generations. This has given people the confidence to participate more in local events. We hope to continue to empower local residents, through further activities and events. 2. To relieve poverty and unemployment without distinction of... The direct benefit which flows from this includes reduced unemployment locally. For example, we have worked with job assist, to help people establish a route back to employment. Another direct benefit through the relief of poverty is increased information for the local community. For example we provide access to information on housing, benefits, return to employment. We also host intergenerational events which helps reduce isolation locally. 3. Associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and urban regeneration.... with the object of improving the conditions of life. The direct benefits which flow from this includes, A more skilled community, more confident and knowledgeable about opportunities. Local resident's also have a link to statutory bodies and as a result have a better relationship with those bodies, increased community spirit, and increased pride in the local area, we have worked with housing executive on the cook it project and also on a field of hope project. We are currently in the process of developing a community building which will be open to all inhabitants. We hope to offer this as a space to offer information, training, youth provision, surgeries with local statutory bodies e.g Housing executive and local Housing associations, offering access to computer facilities. We measure the purposes by: -Asking clients/users to register on arrival to count the number of users and we ask for contact details to inform them of upcoming events. -We ask for evaluation forms to be be filled in giving feedback and suggestions as to what they would like to see being run in the area. The purpose of our charity leads to no harm The charities beneficiaries are the inhabitants of Lagmore and its environs There is no private benefit

What your organisation does

We meet with statutory bodies and agencies, information from meetings is passed to local community. We raise issues of concern about the local area, in order to address them. We provide information and advice, we signpost residents to the right people, if they have issues. We meet and lobby local representatives. We organise and run community

events. We work with other groups including the Colin Neighbourhood Partnership, we undertake training as required.

Charitable purposes

The Company is established to promote the benefit of and to develop the capacity and skills of the inhabitants of Lagmore and its environs of Co. Antrim (hereinafter called the (“area of benefit”) and to relieve poverty and unemployment without distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and urban economic regeneration to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in furtherance of this: (a) to maintain and manage a centre in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the company.
