Public benefits
The direct benefit flowing from this, is a safe and neutral facility for residents of the said area of benefit to use for meetings or training courses with various educational or government bodies. The benefit is evidenced by word of mouth and on occasion written surveys from the attendees and feedback after using the Centre from the organisational
bodies. This purpose does not lead to any harm. The benefit is for all inhabitants within the environs of Gilford and Ballymacanllen . A private benefit flowing from this is that a trustee or family member may use the Centre in same manner as all other residents, this is purely incidental and necessary, so that the benefit is available to all. Another public benefit is the delivery of essential services through the provision of social business filling a need that is not currently filled by local authorities.
What your organisation does
Our organisations deliver multiple social programs through its community hub in Ballymacanallen. This is a rural venue that regularly services the needs of our rurally disadvantaged community. We have over 400 users of the venue and we operate and assist four constituent groups. We deliver a myriad of social and intergerational events aimed at
tackling marginalisation of hard to reach people and communities. We regularly build the capacity of the community by delivering educational classes and health and well being initiatives therefore building a healthy, outward and confident looking community. We are currently undertaking the delivery of a new social enterprise that is aimed at stimulating employment opportunities as well as development of the social economy as we are committed to the ideal of self help and self determination as a community. The initiative is the construction of newly refurbished business incubation units in an old redundant building. We create a well informed and connected rural community, we preserve the oral, written, built and practised heritage of the area in a sensitive manner whilst teaching the importance of respect and tolerance of other cultures of interest We are actively addressing the lack of provision through harnessing certain efficiencies of the social economy and we are striving to identify need and opportunity arising from that need. Through our programs we address the lack of social connectivity through the provision of intergenerational activities and we create awareness around the environment with some of our green policies and initiatives, this in turn helps combat fuel poverty.

Charitable purposes
Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Gilford and district area and its environs (hereinafter described as the “area of benefit") without distinction of age, sex, race, political religious or other opinion. It will do so by associating g the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of the social welfare, education, recreation or other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. Establish a community development organisation initiative and to co-operate with the relevant organisations in furtherance of the above objectives. Advance knowledge and appreciation of the Ulster Scots language and culture and o encourage understanding and acceptance of all indigenous cultures to the area of benefit
