The purpose of Muckamore Pre-School Playgroup is to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age of Muckamore and its surrounding environments in County Antrim without distinction of age, gender, martial status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by

associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries The group meets public benefit requirement by providing preschool education to children under primary school age in Muckamore and the surrounding areas. This benefits the children by preparing them for primary school education. This also benefits parents/carers by sharing of relevant information which can be used to promote the development of individual children's learning. This public benefit is assessed by our Early Years Specialist also feedback forms from parents/carers. b) to support the values and principles of Early Years. The direct benefits which flow from the stated purpose are that children under statutory school age in the Antrim Borough area have a safe, healthy and stimulating environment in which they can learn through play and that each child will be helped to develop their own unique set of qualities and talents to their full potential. These benefits can be evidenced by feedback from the Parents, by detailed observations and assessments carried out by staff and by the external inspections from the Education Department and Social Services. The purpose of the playgroup does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries are the children who attend the Playgroup. A private benefit to trustees and staff may arise from training in child protection, first aid etc. Through this training, skill and experience are acquired which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure standards of care are achieved. As the playgroup premises are rented from Antrim Borough Council, a private benefit may arise when the playgroup make improvements to outside playing area. These benefits are incidental and necessary for the children to have a safe outside environment in which to play.

Provide an environment, inside and outside, which provides a sense of wonder, lets them experience success and develop positive attitudes to learning. Provide

experiences that meet the children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs at their particular stage of development. Develop and maintain a close partnership with parents. Value children as individuals. Give the opportunity to discover learning is fun. Extend children's abilities to communicate ideas and feelings in a variety of ways.

(hereafter called the 'area of benefit;) without distinction of age, gender, martial status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; and b) to support the values and principles of Early Years.
