The public benefits that flow from the provision and maintenance of a parish hall for use by the inhabitants of the area of benefit are: (i) enhanced quality of life and sense of well-being through engagement with and participation in activities and events that bring people together, leading to improvements in physical and emotional well-being,

quality of life and a more stable and cohesive community; (ii) increased efficiency and effectiveness of the community and voluntary groups and organisations that use the facility, resulting in enhanced outcomes and service delivery and, consequently an improved quality of life for those who benefit from the work of these groups and organisations; (iii) enhanced active citizenship and involvement in community life. The beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Parish of Drumbanagher and its environs. These benefits can be evidenced through feedback from the beneficiaries, evaluations of the work and impact of community and voluntary groups and organisations that use the facility and the findings of community surveys. No harm or private benefit arises from this purpose.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following:- The provision and maintenance of a parish hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Drumbanagher and its environs (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of political, religious or other opinions or sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, nationality or ethnicity, including use for: (a) meetings, classes, functions and events, and (b) other forms of recreation, social and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants; provided always that the parish hall shall not be used for worship or activities by any sector or group whose principles are inimical to the principles of the Church of Ireland.
