Public benefits
The purpose of Summer Madness is the advancement of religion by working with the youth, young adults, para-church organisations and church leaders of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The expression of Christian religion through engagement with the general public in local communities is a public benefit. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose
are the enjoyment of being part of the Christian community, encouraging belonging to a church family, being valued, having pastoral and social needs met and encouraging participants to serve in their local community. The beneficiaries are the general public and these benefits are demonstrated by increased participation in church life, money being released for aid agencies and outreach and participants being encouraged to serve in their local community and beyond. The wider benefit to local communities will outweigh any detriment arising. A private benefit to Trustees may arise from our programmes, festivals and events, and they may gain skills and knowledge which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the fulfilment of our purpose. No trustee receives remunerations, reward or other private benefit for carrying out their trustee responsibility.
What your organisation does
Summer Madness exists to engage, enthuse and equip the youth and young adults of Ireland and Northern Ireland in the Christian faith so that they may be real change makers in their churches and communities across the island. We organise two festivals each Summer which draws together youth, young adults, para-church organisations and church leaders
together for worship, reflection, teaching and celebration. We provide activities, events, opportunities and resources to enable those gathered to understand their Christian faith and express it in service in their local communities and throughout the world. We also provide ongoing support for church and youth leaders through workshops and leadership training and special events.
