Public benefits
The benefit that flows from the purpose is the promotion of, enjoyment, better understanding and general advancement of the arts and in particular the art of choral music for the benefit of the general public in Northern Ireland, and further afield within the UK and Ireland through exposure to and participation in, as a member of the choir or as a
member of the audience, in choral music. These benefits are evidenced by the two annual concerts which the Choir performs and the weekly choir practises from September to May. We also ensure there is regular internal assessment of our charitable activities, participation in the Choir itself and audiences for our Concerts; regular financial assessments in annual reports, audited annual accounts, and reports to grant funders when appropriate. We endeavour to encourage all within our community to join the Choir or to attend our performances, thus encouraging community cohesion and providing a bridge between diverse groups. The charity's beneficiaries are the general public in, and occasionally outside, Northern Ireland. Members of the choir and their families are also beneficiaries as singing helps to promote good mental and physical health.
