Public benefits
Carnlea Orange Hall Management Committee provides, maintains and manages a rural facility for the benefit inhabitants in the 'area of benefit' as per our Constitution document. Of course it is not limited to people in the local area and some travel much further to use the hall. The vast majority though are from the local community. Anyone in the
area is a potential beneficiary. We co-ordinate, organise and assist in organising activities advancing community well-being, community capacity building, cultural awareness and understanding and various other events and entertainment deemed worthwhile for the good of the local community without distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion. We submit that these fit within the Charities Act 12 descriptions of charitable purposes i.e. 1) The advancement of citizenship or community development. 2) The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science. We further submit that this demonstrates compliance with the two principal elements of the Charities Act i.e. PUBLIC & BENEFIT. Our success can be demonstrated by the numbers using the hall. There is no private benefit to anyone.
