Public benefits

The organisation delivers a range of programmes and projects in communities across Northern Ireland, more specifically those programmes which address poverty and disadvantage and promote peace and reconciliation through the provision of education and partnership between organisations and local people. The projects and programmes promote and

encourage new skills in people affected by poverty and promote improved confidence and self-esteem. The projects and programmes also support and encourage people living in communities to engage with issues that contribute to community division in Northern Ireland and promote dialogue and discussion to address these. - In relation to purpose/objects (a) the organisation delivers training and learning programmes which engage with different community organisations in different communities and which promote co-operation through providing opportunities for people living in different communities to engage with one another as well as statutory agencies. - In relation to purpose/objects (b) the organisation again achieves this through developing the partnerships and relationships established through purpose/object (a) and using these as the basis for developing new programmes and projects which address poverty and disadvantage and promote longer term partnerships to address community needs. - In relation to purpose/objects (c) the organisation achieves this aim through the delivery of the programmes and projects developed through purpose objects (a) and (b) ensuring that sustainable skills are embedded within communities to promote peace and community development and improved the quality of life of inhabitants. In this way the organisation achieves its purposes and objects through implementing and developing projects and programmes in partnership with communities which target the general public, and more particularly, those people living in areas of poverty and disadvantage, and whose lives are negatively affected by poverty and disadvantage.
