Public benefits

The benefit which flows from our purpose is improvement in the capability of Groups to fulfil the aims of the Scout movement being the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. These

benefits are evidenced by the feedback from our beneficiaries, the scout groups in South Belfast. There is no harm arising from our purposes, our beneficiaries operate within a framework of safety to enable children and young people to take part in adventurous and constructive activities safely. There are no private benefits arising from our purposes.

What your organisation does

The Trust generates income from investments. Applications are invited from Scout Groups in South Belfast for funding of specified projects or equipment. The amount available to each group is based on an equitable division of the Trust's income. Funding is granted where the application is in line with the purposes of the Trust.

Charitable purposes

To further the aim of the Scout Association by encouraging development of South Belfast Groups and by providing South Belfast Groups with resources necessary to encourage development through improvement in the capability of the Group to fulfill the aims and objectives of the Scout Movement, improvement in the morale and wellbeing of the Group, efforts which might lead to recruitment of leaders and members and efforts which might lead to an increase in the number of sections in the group.
