To advance the culture and heritage of the Hindu way of life by educating the public in Indian languages, yoga, Indian festivals. 3. To advance community development through volunteering initiatives. Public Benefits For purpose 1 – Public

benefits receive knowledge, a broadening of understanding and awareness of arts, culture and heritage of Hindu cultures. The benefits are provided specifically to people of Shankill area although these can be extended around Belfast/Northern Ireland. These benefits are and will be evidenced through feedback from participants and creation of accessible material like display boards, booklets, banners and flyers. For purpose 2 - Public benefits include advancement of Indian culture and heritage, Art of Living, improved health and wellbeing, advancement of education includes the provision of arts and cultural activities and events which are specifically delivered to children, young people and to older people and these activities build confidence self-esteem, knowledge of Hindu way of life. The benefits are provided specifically to people of the Shankill area although visitors to the area will also benefit. These benefits are and will evidenced by recording the number of activities and events provided, the numbers of children, young people and older people participating and getting direct feedback from participants. For purpose 3 – These benefits are provided primarily to children, young People, adults/older people to develop a sense of community by taking part in cross-community activities to build healthy community relations. The benefits specially provided for the people of Shankill area although activities may also extend to these groups elsewhere in Belfast/Northern Ireland. These benefits are and will be recorded by the feedback from participants which demonstrates increased knowledge, awareness and respect. There is no harm or private benefit from our purposes.

What your organisation does

The aim of Sudarshanam Hindu Samajam(Organisation) is to achieve good relations and integration with the local community and other ethnic groups in Northern Ireland. To organise events and programs to build relations through Indian Kerala culture and arts , yoga and meditation projects. We are currently raising funds through holding events and

approaching businesses. The organisation undertake various charitable services for people in need, poverty, distress and sickness. These might include taking up fund raising campaigns for programmes in India and other developing countries. Offering volunteering services to similar programmes in the Belfast and around northern Ireland. We celebrate important Kerala Hindu festivals and auspicious occasions like Vishu, Onam, Ganesh Chatuthi, Diwali(festival of lights) and Shivaratiri will be undertaken by the organisation. Cultural programs like dance, art and music is also form a part of this activity.
