The committee of Gelvin Area Community Association Ltd believe that the purposes set out in our Memorandum and Articles meets the public benefits requirement of all our beneficiaries. Purpose (a) to advance education, our organisation provides a range of courses and classes which benefit the local inhabitants, these classes are recreational

providing an opportunity to learn new skills. (b) to promote the relief of the elderly, we do this by offering our premises for activities relating to older people, allowing them to socialise improving their quality of life. (c) to preserve the environment and heritage of the area, the group has been instrumental in this area as we run history classes and have produced a book and are currently working with local residents on a further publication. (d) to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreational and leisure time occupation, our local centre is open and accessible to all and we offer a wide range of programmes which meet local needs. there is no private benefit flowing from the purposes.

Gelvin Area Community Association Ltd provides a range of programmes and activities which meet the local need of residents, we have a keen interest in history and the environment and continually promote this. We provide a facility for older people to use, we arrange a number of walks throughout the area. The centre has been used by the local

farmer's group. We organise bus trips and provide excellent opportunities in a rural area.

Charitable purposes

To promote the benefits of the inhabitants of the Gelvin district and surrounding area without distinction of sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities in a common effort to advance education, to promote the relief of the elderly, to preserve the environment and heritage and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life.
