Public benefits

The purposes of the charity are: “The advancement and promotion of the Christian religion for the benefit of the public” “The advancement of education for the benefit of the public in accordance with the charity’s Christian beliefs” “The prevention or relief of poverty for the benefit of the public anywhere in the world in accordance with the

charity’s Christian beliefs” The Trustees believe that the activities of the Charity are open to any members of the public and provide direct benefits to the public. The direct public benefits which flow from the activities of the charity include: 1) In relation to the advancement and promotion of the Christian religion: • Establishing and helping to promote Christian churches and advance the Christian religion. • Supporting outreach programs in the UK and throughout the world. • Supporting and partnering with Christian workers throughout the world to support the concept of Christian mission. The direct benefits that flow from this purpose is the promotion of the Christian faith to individuals and a greater sense of engagement and quality of life by those who regularly benefit from the activities of the charity. The indirect benefits include the moral improvement in society as a whole which Christianity encourages. 2) In relation to advancing education in accordance with the charity’s Christian beliefs: • Educating people about the Christian faith. • Promoting and supporting education projects and working in partnership with other charities and organisations working to advance education, whether formal or vocational at a range of academic levels. The benefits that flow directly from this purpose can be demonstrated through better educational results by those who benefit and a greater sense of engagement and quality of life by those who regularly benefit from the activities of the charity. The beneficiaries are people of any age who would not otherwise have access to education. 3) In relation to the prevention and relief of poverty: • Provision of support, items and services to individuals in need and charities working to prevent and relieve poverty. • Providing and assisting in the provision of training, outreach and healthcare projects designed relieve poverty. The benefits that flow directly from this purpose include the alleviation of hunger and relief from the symptoms of poverty. The indirect benefits are a greater understanding of the issues surrounding poverty and assisting in enabling members of the public to take remedial action to the consequences of poverty. The beneficiaries are those living in poverty or deprivation. There is no harm flowing from the purpose of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public and various partner charities but the provision of benefit is not restricted to this area and is open to anyone from any location. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is that those who work for the charity may feel an improved sense of wellbeing. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

The purpose of Jabez Trust is to advance the Christian religion through establishing and supporting Christian churches and by supporting Christian workers throughout the world. The charity is also involved in advancing education through supporting education projects and in the prevention and relief of poverty. The Charity achieves these purposes

through the following activities • The charity is involved in the establishment and support of Christian churches throughout the world. This is done through practical hands-on and financial support and followed up with further guidance and the provision of advice and services in the running and future of these churches. The charity has been actively involved in this work in Iraq in the past. • The charity supports Christian workers throughout the world. This is achieved through providing financial assistance along with pastoral support and guidance. • The charity supports schools and education programs throughout the world for the advancement of education and religion. • The charity provides education resources, support and guidance to businesses and business leaders in furtherance of the support of Christian business practices. • The charity provides support, items and services to individuals in need and works in partnership with other charities to prevent and relieve poverty.

Charitable purposes

I. The advancement and promotion of the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in the United Kingdom and throughout the world in accordance with the bible through the following activities; • Establishing, supporting and working in partnership with Christian churches; • Support of and partnership with Christian workers throughout the world; • Raising awareness and understanding of the Christian beliefs and practices. II. To advance education for the benefit of the public in accordance with the charity’s Christian beliefs in such ways as the charity trustees think fit through the following activities; • Promoting and supporting education projects and initiatives, charities and other organisations working to advance education. III. The prevention or relief of poverty for the benefit of the public anywhere in the world in accordance with the charity’s Christian beliefs through the following activities; • Providing support, items and services to individuals in need and charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty. • Providing and assisting in the provision of education, training and healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to relieve long-term poverty.
