What your organisation does

Rascals Playstation is a purpose-built childcare facility, set up in 1999 as an amalgamation of two existing playgroups and an out-of schools club. It is a cross-community group run by a voluntary committee, registered with Social Services, NIPPA and Playboard and provides daycare, pre-school and after-school services. Rascals Playstation

provide a safe and stimulating environment allowing children to have fun, play and develop according to their age and stage ensuring equal opportunities for all. Rascals PlayStation work s closely with the NIPPA early years advisor to enable each child progress and learn through play to the best of their ability. Rascals PlayStation is registered with WHSCT Social Services Department and is also part of the WELB pre-school education expansion programme, following the DENI Guidelines and offering children the opportunity to learn though play using the six areas of learning: language, early maths, art, the world around us, music, personal, social, emotional and physical development.

Charitable purposes

The company’s objectives are to provide Pre-school and Afterschool Care facilities for children in Early Years (2 years and 9 months to 14 years). The aim of “the group” is to enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age and of children who are school age. By providing facilities for the daily care and recreation and education of children during and out of school hours and during school holidays. By encouraging parents/guardians to understand and provide for the needs of their children and to encourage the development of children and to facilitate this development and also instigating and adhering to and furthering the aims of NIPPA, Social Services and Playboard.
