Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from these purposes include provision of a range of educational, social and recreational activities mainly based within Mullaghdun Community Centre for members of the local community living within the Mullaghdun District, members of other neighbouring communities within County Fermanagh and County Cavan and visitors
to the area, providing them with the opportunity to avail of activities that assist improve their educational attainment, health, social interaction and their conditions of life through accessing services and activities that would not normally be made available to them. Examples of activities provided being Keep Fit, Social Dancing, Old Tyme Dances, Farmers Information Courses & Talks, Funeral Teas, Family Parties, Fashion Shows, Coffee Mornings, Yoga classes, Health Fairs, Sports Days, 5 & 10K walks, use by Mullaghdun Youth Club, use by Mullaghdun Bowling Club, use by Parish of Arney-Cleenish, use by Letterbreen and Mulaghdun Partnership, use by other charitable bodies for activities and functions. Many of these activities are organised by the association linking with other statutory organisations and voluntary organisations. Benefits of the activities are evidenced by measurement of numbers participating in activities and receiving of feedback from participants. The only private benefits flowing from our purposes are that Mullaghdun Community Association members and their families can participate in all activities and this is incidental and necessary to ensure that all members of the district can potentially benefit. There is no harm flowing from the purposes of Mullaghdun Community Association.
What your organisation does
We meet as a committee once a month to discuss finances, future fund raising events, youth club issues, all issues relating to the upkeep of our community centre and any repairs or improvements required, grants that may be available, classes we want to run, upcoming community events we want to take part in, and any other business arising. We rent
out our hall to various groups such as youth club, bowling teams, arts and craft groups, yoga and keep fit classes, private parties, dances and concerts, first aid training, rural community information evenings, senior citizen dinners, bazaars, coffee mornings, cookery demonstrations, wine tasting, fashion shows and any other group requesting same in keeping with our constitution. Activities such as football, netball, badminton, darts, table hockey and football and pool. We regularly apply for available grants to improve our facility and we join up as a cross community group with a neighbouring village to bring our communities together.
