Public benefits

The Trustees believe that the purposes of The Canoe Association of Northern Ireland T/a Paddle Northern Ireland meet the public benefit requirement. Purpose One – Helping people take part in Paddlesport This purpose gives people more chances to get involved in Paddlesport, enjoy being active, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, build

confidence, develop skills and meet others. We know these benefits are happening through regular feedback from members and ongoing evaluation of our activities. Paddlesport involves some risk, but this is managed by using trained coaches and leaders who follow National Governing Body guidelines. The people who benefit are members of Paddle Northern Ireland, those involved in developing Paddlesport, and anyone taking part in Paddlesport activities. There is no private benefit from this purpose. Purpose Two – Supporting Paddlesport communities This purpose brings similar benefits: more opportunities to take part, enjoy the sport, improve health and wellbeing, develop skills and connect with others. These benefits are shown through member feedback and regular evaluation. Any risks are reduced by trained coaches and leaders following National Governing Body procedures. Beneficiaries include members, people involved in Paddlesport development, and all participants in Paddlesport activities. There is no private benefit from this purpose. Purpose Three – Developing and advancing Paddlesport This purpose focuses on growing and improving Paddlesport across Northern Ireland. The benefits will be seen through measurable progress, member feedback and regular evaluation. There is no harm associated with this purpose.
