Public benefits
The public benefit flowing from these purposes are that parents, staff, Principal and Board of Governors of the school have an organisation to encourage discussion, to create a better understanding of the various roles involved. The school benefits from having an organisation set up to co-ordinate practical support for everything the school does.
The school also benefits by having an organisation willing, able and prepared to take on the task of arranging functions and fund raising events. All parties benefit from having social events arranged and managed by the Association. Everyone benefits from the good relations which are engendered by the work of the Association and the Principal, staff and governing body of the school. The school benefits most of all because it has an organisation determined to enhance the good image and reputation of St Oliver Plunketts School Toomebridge. All of the activities of the Association shall be for the benefit of the children, staff and families which at any given time serve the people of Toomebridge and surrounding districts. These benefits are measured by the amount of money raised for the school, the numbers attending social events organised by the Committee and the feedback from the staff, principal and governors of the school which is reported three times a year. There is no private benefit flowing from these purposes and no harm associated with their activities.
What your organisation does
The organisation acts as a link between the children and parents of St Oliver Plunketts school and the staff, principal and board of governors. It also functions as a fund raising agency by organising occasional social events, the profits of which are returned to the general funds of the school. These take the form of monthly draws, craft fairs,
school discos and occasional quiz nights. The Association encourages the parents to try and play a bigger part in the life of St Oliver Plunketts Primary School in recognition of the opportunities given to the children who attend the school.
