People in the St Patrick’s Ward, Newry receive many benefits through the work of the Three Ways Community Association, these include, but are not restricted to the following: Better

life opportunities. Opportunities to advance or continue education. Opportunities to engage in more active lifestyles through the provision of health related programmes and activities leading to improvements in both physical and mental well-being. Opportunities for stronger bonds to develop between people, where friendly relations build trust and a mutual support network and prevent or reduce social isolation. Opportunities for community to come together to participate and contribute to a vibrant community life and enhanced community spirit. Opportunities for people to increase skills base / capacity. Opportunities for inter-generational activities and programmes. Access to the Ropewalk – 3g multi-purpose pitch adjacent to the Community Centre. Opportunities to address issues in the area of benefit such as anti-social behavior / fear of crime. Opportunities for children and young people to participate in youth clubs and a wide range of personal development programmes Developing people’s confidence and self-esteem to try something new. Building community knowledge. These benefits will be demonstrated by Detailed Log Book maintained in the Community Centre. Quarterly Activity Reports submitted to Council and DSD. Annual Reports Returns to funders / End of Grant Reports Achievements / milestones reached by people in the community. A combination of the above may also bring improvements in people’s employability, physical & mental health/well-being; it may also raise individual aspirations as well as reducing anti-social behaviour, improving community safety and creating less dependence on the State. This Purpose does not give rise to any harm. The benefit is intended primarily for the people living in the St Patrick’s Ward Area which is a designated Neighbourhood Renewal Area with high levels of multiple deprivation. There is no private benefit intended, however, some private benefit may arise to trustees because they may get to learn about various ‘opportunities’ before the rest of the community and may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are all incidental and necessary.

What your organisation does

Three Ways Community Association is dedicated to improving the quality of life and wellbeing of people living within our area of benefit. We provide a diverse range of programmes, services, activities and events that promote community development, social inclusion, health and wellbeing, lifelong learning, and opportunities for people of all ages to

participate in community life. Our activities include programmes for older people, early years provision through our playgroup, youth development initiatives, personal and social development programmes, and intergenerational projects that bring different age groups together. We organise seasonal and community events throughout the year, including celebrations for St Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas, as well as community fun days and educational trips. The Association supports health and wellbeing through a variety of physical activity programmes and classes, including dance and fitness sessions, and provides access to digital resources, including computers and internet facilities, helping to reduce digital exclusion within the community. We facilitate opportunities for community engagement through social clubs, training courses, community meetings, and partnership working with statutory, voluntary and community organisations. We also manage and operate the Ropewalk Synthetic Pitch, providing local sports clubs, community groups and individuals with access to sporting facilities for training, recreation and competitive matches. Through these activities, Three Ways Community Association seeks to foster a safe, inclusive and vibrant community where residents can develop skills, improve wellbeing, build social connections and actively participate in community life.

Three Ways Community Association is established to relieve poverty, sickness and the aged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the St. Patrick's Ward, Newry and its environs (hereinafter called 'the area of benefit') without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, class, marital status, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary and community sector organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.
