Promote awareness of the cultural heritage (including history, language, music, literature and folklore) of people of the Ulster-Scots community in the Scarva area, The benefits which flow from this purpose are a better understanding and awareness of the cultural history, through a variety of experiences, for the people of the Scarva area and its
hinterland. These will be evidenced by both musical and literary exposure and participation. There will be no harm flowing from this purpose. There may be private benefits eg increased musical expertise. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for education, recreation and other leisure time activity with the object of improving the conditions of life of the people of Ulster-Scots community who are in need of such facilities as a result of their youth, age, poverty, social or economic circumstances, The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the improvement of the conditions of life of the Ulster Scots community in the Scarva area, both through practical experience and theoretically. These may include improved health and wellbeing, greater knowledge and understanding of support agencies and other assistance available. Through their experiences people may gain skills and knowledge which are transferable to other settings. These private benefits are incidental. There will be no harm flowing from this purpose. Enable the people of the Ulster-Scots community to grow in understanding and confidence in their own cultural heritage that they may be in a position to share on an equitable basis with other traditions The benefits which flow from this purpose include a growth in understanding and comprehension of Ulster Scots culture in the greater Scarva area and a readiness to share this with people from other traditions. The benefits will be evidenced by regular interaction with other groups and agencies and evaluated through frequent formal and informal feedback. There will be no harm flowing from this purpose. A private benefit may arise through the social interaction between and among different groups and agencies. These private benefits are incidental. Provide encouragement and practical support services to existing and new organisations whose aims are compatible with the group so as to increase their efficiency and effectiveness. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include greater communication and links between the Ulster Scots community in the greater Scarva area and other groups which have similar aims and objectives. These benefits will be evidenced by formal and informal engagements with other groups and individuals. This purpose does no give rise to any harm. A private benefit may arise through the social interactions between groups. These private benefits are incidental.
