The purpose of the organisation is 'To encourage and develop an interest in and awareness of all aspects of history'. The beneficiaries of the organisation's purpose are people of the local area who wish to become more informed about the history of the area. The benefits of the studying of history makes participants think, keep the mind active, and

in some cases recall and write down their experiences. Learning through history may correct preconceived ideas about how to deal with day to day living, dealing with other folks with alternative beliefs or ideology. The benefits are capable of being demonstrated by feedback from beneficiaries and there is no private benefit or harm.

What your organisation does

We hold monthly meetings at which Lecturers speak We have in the past prepared and sold Journals on local historical interests We have met up with Members of other Local Historical Groups We have held outings to visit other Historical buildings etc. A workbook was produced in 2014 for local schools.
