Public benefits

1. Promote interest in short mat bowls within the North West Zone area. The direct benefits which flow from this will increase an understanding of the rules and regulations surrounding short mat bowls. These benefits will be demonstrated through feed-back received from zone members and the general public attending matches. There is no harm from

this purpose. The only beneficiaries will be the players and general public. 2. Preserve the existence of short mat bowling in the area, and develop the skills of both young and old, and encourage its enjoyment among clubs within the zone. These benefits will be clearly seen through the youth development programme that exists, and from comments received via senior players within the zone. There is no harm from this purpose. Those benefitting will be the general public and our members who will continue to develop their bowling skills. Private benefit may arise from purpose 2 as members receive the necessary training. 3. Encourage persons of all ages and sexes to develop their bowling skills and talents. The benefits from purpose 3 will ensure North West zone maintains high level of bowling Skill within the country. These benefits will be demonstrated through success in local, national and British Championships by Zone Teams and individual zone members.

The Zone is established for the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for indoor bowling for the benefit of members of the general public in the North West and its environs ( called area of benefit), without regard to age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, disability, ethnic identity, nationality, religion or political opinion.
