Purpose 1 - to promote the benefit of the inhabitant’s of Killaloo and Claudy region and the surrounding area of County Londonderry (hereinafter described as “the area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local

authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education, to promote and contribute to the social, economic and environmental regeneration of the area of benefit. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from the local charitable and community bodies that conduct their activities from Brackfield Old School Ltd. There is a high level of occupancy from which the local people of the Killaloo and Claudy area benefit from. This is evident from the high level of footfall. Services are provided to the local people and therefore reducing isolation that can often occur when living in rural areas. There is no potential harm as all volunteers and staff are fully trained. The charity’s beneficiaries are the people, both young and old who live within the Killaloo and Claudy area. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is people of this group live within the area, but they would still be able to avail of the services provided by Brackfield Old School Ltd with no preference to them over any other member of the public living in the area. Purpose 2- to preserve the environment and heritage of the area of benefit. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased access to environmental and heritage sites of interest in the Killaloo and Claudy area. This will in turn increase the standard of living and reduce levels of isolation that can often occur when living in rural areas. These benefits are evident through the number of volunteers who help preserve the area resulting in lower levels of anti-social behaviour in the area. Increase sense of community. This can be seen through surveys taken through the Brackfield Old School Ltd and by feedback from the attendees of the courses. There is no potential harm from this purpose the main beneficiaries are those who live in the Killaloo and Claudy area the only private benefit flowing from this purpose is people of this group live within the area, but they would still be able to avail of the services provided by Brackfield Old School Ltd with no preference to them over any other member of the public living in the area. Purpose 3 - to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include increased social interaction between those who live in a rural area. There will be reduced levels of isolation for those who live in the Claudy and Killaloo area. There will be increased standard of living and direct benefit to the local community through the provision of educational resources. These benefits are demonstrated through the high numbers of participants from the area. There is also feedback from the participants. There is no potential harm from this purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are those who live in the area aged 6 – 18, parents and toddlers, senior citizens and those with disabilities. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is people of this group live within the area, but they would still be able to avail of the services provided by Brackfield Old School Ltd with no preference to them over any other member of the public living in the area.
