The direct benefits which flow from the purposes are a reduction in stress and anxiety, an increase in confidence and mental well-being of hard of hearing people in Ballymena and its environs in Co Antrim. and how? Fees paid to qualified Lip Reading ATLA approved Tutor How does the private benefit contribute to the organisation’s purposes? Lip reading skills can much enhance the confidence and mental well-being of hard of hearing people by enabling them to interact better in everyday life with the hearing community. If there is a private benefit to a trustee, please explain how the other trustees will manage any potential conflict of interest which may arise There is no private benefit to any trustee.

What your organisation does

Provision of monthly social and informative meetings from September to May held in Ballymena. Provision of weekly Lip Reading classes with a qualified ATLA Tutor in Ballymena on Saturday mornings from September to June. Organising and providing transport for one full day social outing during the summer months. Checking that loop systems are working

in churches, public buildings, banks, etc and reporting to management of same if not working Providing speakers for local community groups thus informing the general public of the problems faced by hard of hearing people and how these can be alleviated.

2 OBJECTS. 2.1 The Club is established to provide,cause to be provided or assist in providing, in Ballymena and its environs in Co Antrim,(hereafter called the "area of benifit") facilities in the interests of social welfare for the education,recreation and leisure- time occupation of Hard-Of-Hearing who have need of such facilities,and in particular: 2.1.1 To foster mutual support on a self-help basis among Hard-OF -Hearing people: 2.1.2 To educate the Hearing Public about the needs and experience of Hard-Of- Hearing people ,
