Public benefits
Advancement of education for women, building community and essential links, hosting an active woman's group that works in partnership with the community and other bodies. To enhance knowledge and understanding through discussion of topical issues, the exchange of ideas and principles of good citizenship. We will also work towards improvement of
social welfare and conditions of life, to increase health and well-being, reduce social isolation and increase participation. The benefits are demonstrated through the increased knowledge and understanding and the support and companionship which is gained. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for the women of the Guild and the communities supported. Private benefit flowing from the purpose is providing training to members and committee members in order for them to carry out the work of the Guild. Through this training the committee gains skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These incidental benefits are necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
The Guild provides a safe and welcoming space for women of all ages to meet. It gives women an opportunity to get involved in local, national and global issues. We meet monthly and provide speakers on a range of topics, ie Knowing your Legal Rights, Belfast Parks through the 1800s, CS Lewis, health issues, chair aerobics, good relations talk. We
