Public benefits

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ELDERS OF THE CHURCH, THROUGH THE TEACHING ELDER, I.E. THE MINISTER, TO PROVIDE AN EDUCATION OF THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS OF THE BIBLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC LIVING WITHIN THE LOCAL AREA OF MOUNTPOTTINGER IN EAST BELFAST AND ITS SURROUNDING DISTRICTS. THE BENEFIT THAT THIS WILL PROVIDE IS THAT IT WILL BRING PEOPLE TO

A LIVING AWARENESS OF CHRIST AS HEAD OF OUR CHURCH. PEOPLE WILL BECOME AWARE OF THE TEACHINGS OF THE BIBLE AND THE LOVE OF GOD AND THIS KNOWLEDGE WILL ENRICH THEIR DAILY LIVES. COMING TOGETHER AS A CONGREGATION TO WORSHIP WILL ALSO BE OF BENEFIT TO THOSE FEELING ISOLATED OR LIVING ALONE. THESE BENEFITS ARE EVIDENCED THROUGH OUR CHURCH MEMBERSHIP AND ATTENDANCE WHICH HAS REMAINED UNBROKEN SINCE THE OPENING OF THE CHURCH IN 1875. OUR WORK AND WITNESS IS REPORTED IN OUR ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS. THERE IS NO RISK OF HARM TO ANYONE, AS EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS, DOES SO AT THEIR OWN FREEWILL. THERE ARE PRIVATE BENEFITS TO OUR MINISTER, WHO RECEIVES A SALARY. THESE PRIVATE BENEFITS ARE NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT OUR PURPOSES AND ARE THEREFORE INCIDENTAL.
