Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the education and development of present and future pre-school children (beneficiaries) in our care, without distinction. The children in the group develop skills in the six area of learning required by the Dept. of Education’s (NI) pre-school expansion programme including social integration,

emotional wellbeing, language skills and the enhancement of knowledge relating to early maths, the arts and the world around us. Other beneficiaries include the parents/carers of the children who are confident their children are receiving a purposeful pre-school education in a safe and healthy environment. The benefits are evidenced through the children’s developmental progression, parental feedback through regular meetings, evaluations of our group by an independent early years specialist and positive inspection reports from social services (annually) and the Education and Training Inspectorate who stated in our last report in March 2013 ‘The Playgroup is meeting very effectively the educational and pastoral needs of the children and has demonstrated its capacity for sustained self-improvement.' This purpose does not lead to harm.
