PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT The purpose of the charity is: “To advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public” The Trustees believe that the activities of the Charity are open to any members of the public and provide direct benefits to the public. The direct public benefits which flow from the activities of the charity include: Educating

people about the Christian faith through regular discussion and group meetings. Engagement with and of the community by improving and enhancing the quality of life of those who have become isolated. Increasing social interaction in cross community events promoting community involvement and inclusion. The benefits cannot be physically defined by measurement, but can be demonstrated through a greater understanding of the Christian religion and a greater sense of engagement and quality of life by those who regularly use The Connect Centre. There is no harm flowing from the purpose of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public, primarily located in the Carryduff area, but the provision of benefit is not restricted to this area and is open to anyone from any location in Northern Ireland. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is that those who work for the charity may feel an improved sense of wellbeing. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

The charity is involved in the following activities: The provision of a drop-in centre known as ' The Connect Centre' in Carryduff town Centre for those who are isolated or who are interested in the Christian faith Educating people about the Christian faith through regular discussion and engagement with those attending The connect

Centre. Organising and attending collaborative social and outreach work with the general public, primarily in (but not limited to ) the Carryduff area. Provision of food aid to those in financial need

Charitable purposes

The purpose of Carryduff Connect is to advancement of the Christian religion for the benefit of the public in accordance with the statement of faith. (b) The charity is also established to advance the education of men for the benefit of the public and to provide facilitie, courses and literature to help men develop their own individual gifts and talents.
