What your organisation does
For over 30 years, Taylorstown Cross Community Complex Ltd has provided early years care and education for children within the Grange and local surrounding rural area. It continues to do this under the Department of Educations curriculum and applying Social Services standards. The Complex promotes the social and developmental well being of
children in the local community. It follows the learning through play initiative and ensures the six areas within the initiative are fully incorporated within the yearly programme. This gives children a firm base for Primary School Education. All aspects of the curriculum are applied and expanded upon in various ways over the three terms of academic year so that the children can build on and develop in each area throughout the year. As the Complex is cross community it allows children from different religious backgrounds and ethnic communities to interact. Parents and guardians involved with the complex are encouraged to help understand/develop their child and also to particpate in fundraising activites and committee duties. The members of the staff who work on a daily basis with the children are fully trained to NVQ III, with the Complex Co-Ordinator holding a BA (Hons) in Education. They are also trained in Child Protection, First Aid and Basic Food Hygiene.
