Public benefits

The Trust meets the Public Benefit in the following way: Through the advancement of religion by providing fund to Newtowncrommelin Presbyterian Church for the maintenance, upkeep and repair or reconstruction of the church property and the churchyard. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the repair and upkeep of the church

premises which in turn allows the church to continue to advance the Christian faith and the belief in its principles by raising awareness and understanding in the local area and among the congregation for public worship. The direct benefits are demonstrated through regular evaluation of the requirement and usefulness of the provision of funds and how this promotes understanding and awareness of the Christian faith. Feedback is also obtained from beneficiaries. This purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the congregation and membership of Newtowncrommelin Presbyterian Church and in turn wider society and in particular those who live in close proximity to the church. There is no private benefit.

Charitable purposes

The Trustee shall hold the Trust Fund on trust for the said Newtowncrommelin Presbyterian Church. Provided always that the Trust Fund shall not vest absolutely in the Church but shall be retained by or under the control of the Trustee and held on the following trust that is to say:- 1. The Trustee may apply all or such or any part of the income as it in its absolute and uncontrolled discretion from time to time thinks fit of the Trust Fund to or for or towards the maintenance upkeep and repair or reconstruction of the Church property and also the churchyard belonging or appertaining to the Church in such manner as the Trustee in its discretion thinks proper and may either itself pay or apply the same for the benefit of the Church under the foregoing provisions or may pay or transfer the same or any part thereof to the Church without being further answerable for the proper application thereof. 2. The Trustee as it in its absolute and uncontrolled discretion may from time to time if it so thinks fit apply all or any accumulation of any surplus of the income of the Trust Fund not applied as aforesaid to or for or towards the ordinary or general funds of the Church in such manner as the Trustee in its discretion may think proper any may itself either pay or apply the same for the benefit of the Church under the foregoing provisions or may pay or transfer the same or any part thereof to the Church without being further answerable for the proper application thereof. 3. In the event of the Church at any time in the future permanently closing down or ceasing to function for any reason whatsoever or in the event of its amalgamating with any other then the Trustee shall hold the said Trust Fund together with the income thereof and all or any accumulations or surplus therefrom in trust for the Ballymena Presbytery absolutely.
