Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of our organisation are an increased knowledge and awareness of our history and heritage within the Kingdom of Mourne, Ulster and beyond. Through events and musical showcases organised by Orangefield Flute Band, many people both locally and from further afield obtain experience and qualifications in
the music, history and culture of the Ulster-Scots identity and enjoy many of the social activities associated with the group. These benefits are evidenced through the large numbers of people attending our events including concerts, workshops, and other activities. We can see no harm by any of the purposes of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public in the Kingdom of Mourne, Ulster and beyond. The only private benefits from our purpose is that students and young people gain qualifications through competitions and the necessary experience required to become professional tutors in the future.
What your organisation does
Orangefield Flute Band aims to promote greater awareness of Ulster-Scots culture essentially amongst young people. Through any of our workshops we offer we would hope to introduce young people to Ulster-Scots music and culture. We would hope this will inspire and create young people to explore further our culture and identity. We aim to facilitate
our music workshops using qualified tutors who are highly experienced with this type of activity and we will be utilising local Ulster-Scots. As a result of this, it provides our students and learners with the best possible outcome and opportunity to improve and develop their learning and understanding of all that is best of our identity. We believe that by offering our members to opportunity to become involved with our organisations and indeed compete in competitions, this will have a positive oucome upon their lives and characters by developing their confidence and boosting their civic pride by being involved with such an organisation.
