Public benefits
Purpose 1: To promote the experience of art and culture to the general public. The quality of life for the general public is improved through engagement with arts and cultural activities. These benefits are evidenced through audience and participant surveying, critical and journalistic feedback, and through quantitative feedback such as audience
figures or numbers of people experiencing the activities. There may be the perception of harm such as the presentation of ideas or concepts that are contrary/ extra to the perspectives of the people experiencing the activities, however, these are outweighed by the benefit of improved knowledge, increased experience and the view of alternative points of view. There is no physical harm associated with any activities. The benefit is for members of the general public. There will be the benefit of paid employment for the individuals presenting the activities and to businesses engaged in providing services/ materials for the activities, however, this incidental and necessary because industry standard professionals, services and materials are required to present activities to an appropriate quality level and in a manner which is suitable for public consumption, such as within the requirements of health and safety law. What your organisation does
Off Beat Arts' produces and presents art works such as film screenings, art exhibitions, performances, concerts, digital art and programmes of arts activities that involve the delivery of art works or performances for consumption by the public. Some of the work presented will be commissioned by Off Beat Arts while other activities will be
presentations of work already created by the programmed artists. Off Beat Arts seeks to present the art works in unusual contexts and environments.
