Public benefits

Purpose 1: To develop and support a spirit of community throughout the omagh district primarily through an annual festival The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: increased social interaction through the festival; improved mood of those attending; opportunity to participate in raft race and soapbox derby promotes creativity

and teamwork; reduction in anti-social behaviour as young people have increased diversionary activities; increased opportunity for family activities These benefits will be evidenced by: numbers attending the festival; press release and photographs; feedback from participants, minutes of planning meetings; increased engagement and interest from the young people and the community in general. There is a risk of participants and spectators being injured however we carry out intensive risk assessments in liaison with relevant authorities, we have strict guidelines for participants and have first aid facilities on site therefore we believe that any harm is outweighed by the benefits of the Festival The charity’s beneficiaries are people within the Omagh District. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. Purpose 2 To promote Omagh Town Centre and encourage collaboration between community, statutory and business sectors The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: increased footfall into the town centre, increased spend by visitors, a better experience for visitors; co-ordinated marketing among the business/ community and statutory sector and an increase in collaboration leading to improved relations in the town. These benefits will be evidenced by numbers attending the Festival; verbal feedback from participants and suggestions for future events; increased opportunities for social engagement, press releases and media attention We do not anticipate any harm leading from the purposes of our charity. The charity’s beneficiaries are people within the Omagh District. Due to the nature of the Festival there may be some private benefit to businesses due to increased footfall in the town but this is incidental.
