Public benefits

Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead to

harm. The benefit is for children at Limavady Central Primary School. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. This purpose does not lead to harm.

What your organisation does

We are an active PTA, made up of a group of elected Parents & Staff, which organises social fundraising events for the benefit of the school's pupils, their families & friends along with the wider community. We actively volunteer our services regularly to sustain these events, such as Fashion Shows, Quiz Nights, Craft Fairs, Family Fun Nights/BBQs,

Halloween Discos, Mad Hair/Dress Down Days at School. Close consultation with the Principal & Teachers is essential to the success of our PTA and in this regard we would regularly meet with them to agree the expenditure of any funds raised, hence ensuring that they will always be utilised to the benefit of the School and all of its children. We also provide ongoing support, both financially & through volunteering, to our Parent & Toddlers Group which operates in the school once a week, encouraging the development of preschool children across the Community.
