Public benefits

Macosquin Senior Citizens Club The direct public benefit which flows from our purpose to provide facilities for recreation in the interests of the social welfare of persons of 60 years and over in the Macosquin area of Coleraine and to further their health and to improve their condition of life, is to improve health outcomes for an ageing

community, reducing isolation, reduced levels of stress and anxiety. The direct public benefit which flows from our purpose to co-operate in the achievement of the above objects with other organisations having objects similar to those of the club is through community development improving community life with activities. Networking with other organisations will promote good practice and providing better services to our group providing the up to date information on activities and advice These benefits are evidenced through feedback from participants attending the group. The charity’s beneficiaries are persons of 60 years and over in the Macosquin area of Coleraine. All the purposes stated will be of benefit to the local community and no way harmful.There is no private benefit to any trustee other than incidental benefit of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings.

What your organisation does

Our group meets regularly in our local parish hall for tea and a chat. We try to organise for people to come to about topics of interest we have identified as a group e.g. health related, community policing and exercise. We also arrange one off events and trips. Participants enjoy coming together meeting new friends and socialising with old ones.
