Public benefits

To improve the conditions of life for the said inhabitants Trustees represent our area at various meetings with the aim of making improvements to the estate for local residents We have also worked with the housing executive to improve the appearance of some parts of the estate. This has resulted in a greater sense of pride in the area among

residents. We have carried out clean ups with local residents which again apart from the fact there was a large amount of rubbish collected, residents have since been less likely to dispose of rubbish in the area. To improve facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time. Recent engagement with Coleraine Council saw improvements to the play area which gives children and young people a safe environment to play. This has also made parents much more at ease to let their children out to play in an enclosed space as well as the obvious benefits the children get in playing together with safe equipment. To provide social, recreational and sports activities for children and young people. The newly developed football pitch has been a huge positive addition to the area and the children now regularly use the pitch which benefits their physical and mental health. the annual community fun day provides an opportunity for the whole area, though particularly the children to engage in sports on the pitch. The togetherness that results is fantastic for the trustees to see and makes the many meetings worthwhile. The benefits can be demonstrated by turnouts we now get at the community fun day events each summer. The delivery of such events create a positive spirit in the area and provides an opportunity for neighbors to come out and enjoy the day together. Since the group have formed there have been less neighbour disputes as we have brought children and families together for fun activities which has helped to develop relationships. The Residents Association have developed good relationships and contacts with the statutory agencies which has helped to alleviate any problems in the area before they escalate and benefits all Residents in the area and environs. These purposes do not give rise to any harm.
