Crumlin Integrated Playgroup is established to promote play based learning environments for all children under statutory school age (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the Crumlin and its surrounding environs in County Antrim (hereinafter called the ‘area of benefit’) without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability,

sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries; The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the provision of safe and satisfying play based learning experiences to promote the development of young children; support to enable parents /carers and other agencies to become involved in the activities of the group These benefits can be demonstrated by the development academically, socially emotionally and physically of children who attend Crumlin Integrated Playgroup; and in the development of partnerships with parents/carers of the children and with other agencies. The beneficiaries are the children, parents, or guardians of children who attend or attended Crumlin Integrated Playgroup. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is in the employment and training of staff and in promoting the professionalism and commitment of all staff and volunteers and this is incidental and necessary in order to fulfil the purpose. b) to support the values and principles for Early Years. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include recognising early childhood as important in its own right, as well as being the foundation for later life; the use of play as the primary vehicle to promote the development of young children; the promotion of a culture of listening to children; the promotion of Inclusion through diversity and respect for others; providing support, education and development opportunities for families and recognising parents/carers as their child’s first educators. These benefits can be demonstrated by the development academically, socially emotionally and physically of children who attend Crumlin Integrated Playgroup; and in the development of partnerships with parents/carers of the children and with other agencies.
