Public benefits
To promote the history, culture, musical and marching heritage of the Ulster tradition. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the promotion of the history, culture, musical and marching heritage of the Ulster tradition to the youth of Markethill, its environs and the general public. These benefits are evidenced through the
numbers of people remaining and becoming members of the charity and through feedback from participants and members of the public who make use of our services. The purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the youth of Markethill and its environs. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferrable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. To educate and encourage the youth of Markethill and its environs in the art of the flute and drum. The direct benefits would be the education of the youth of Markethill and its environs in the art of the marching band flute and drum, and the provision of a continuing platform for them to perform on these instruments and to advance their knowledge and skills. These benefits are evidenced through the numbers of people remaining and becoming members of the charity and through feedback from participants and members of the public who make use of our services. What your organisation does
Our organisation is a marching flute band based just outside of the village of Markethill in County Armagh. The band is of the traditional Ulster marching band culture. The band is a well organised constituted organisation run by a committee with a strong healthy membership. We take part in local cultural and historical events, provide musical
services for other local organisations, and participate in parades and competitions all round the country. In doing so, we provide several services to the young people of Markethill and local town lands and to the local community. To the young people of Markethill we provide a welcoming safe environment in which to learn and play the flute, snare drum and bass drum and also an opportunity to learn about our culture and history. The band provides a platform in which they can continue to partake in the local culture of the marching band of playing the flute and drum. The band also instils a sense of belonging, discipline, community pride and esprit de corps. We provide a social outlet to the young people of Markethill, where there is little in the way of entertainment, by taking them to events all round Northern Ireland in a safe, friendly and controlled environment. To the wider local community we provide entertainment, the Ulster marching band culture for all to experience at local events and parades and a focal point of community pride. We also provide a service to other local organisations which require the services of a marching band to partake in their events. We also support other charities by performing at their events. We are non profit organisation. The money and funds we raise are solely for the running of the band, and provision of our services.

The band is established:- a) to promote the history, culture, musical and marching heritage of the Ulster tradition in Markethill and its environs (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") b) to educate and encourage the youth of Markethill and its environs in the art of flute and drum.
