Public benefits
The benefits which flow from purpose 1 include promotion to the general public of local history and heritage, preservation of historical traditions, ancient sites and buildings, enhanced capacity and education, and health and wellbeing of those participating in group activities. These benefits can be evidenced through general feedback and
evaluations taken at events and activities, the number of projects carried out by the group in relation to education and the number of people participating. There is no harm associated with this benefit. The Charity’s beneficiaries are the general public residing, or with an interest in, the Portrush and surrounding area. Any private benefit is incidental in terms of enhanced wellbeing, capacity and knowledge, around the heritage and character of the Portrush and surrounding areas. The benefits which flow from purpose 2 include preservation, protection and improvement of local heritage, enhanced education and community awareness and involvement in local heritage, enhanced civic pride, and reduction in dereliction and abandonment of features of heritage interest. These benefits are evidenced through the number of projects carried out by the group where features of local heritage are preserved, protected, developed or improved, through general feedback, interest and evaluations of projects. There is no harm associated. The Charity’s beneficiaries are the general public residing, or with an interest in, the Portrush and surrounding area. Any private benefit is incidental in terms of protection of local heritage and enhanced civic pride around local heritage features.
What your organisation does
Heritage Group made up of individuals interested in preserving the heritage of the Portrush and surrounding area, above and below ground. We aim to educate on the heritage and participate and organise activities that will help preserve the heritage of the area. We liaise with relevant people and organisations with similar remits, such as
archaeologists, local University, schools, Council etc.
