Public Benefit 1. Improve the physical & mental health of people with disabilities, specifically users and potential users of GlenOaks, through providing a range of physical and social activities which will assist users in furthering their independence and improving their health. 2. The Friends of GlenOaks activities & services are specifically
for users and potential users of GlenOaks who are people with disabilities (e.g. physical, sensory and A.B.I.) living in the Londonderry area. 3. All Friends of GlenOaks services and activities are designed and proven to benefit the target audience with regards to their physical and mental health and are therefore in no way harmful. These benefits are and will continue to be demonstrated through ongoing feedback from users and their carers. 4. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is training for the Friends of GlenOaks Committee which is necessary to ensure good governance and fundraising skills. It may also be necessary to fund special training for GlenOaks staff where this funding is not available from the Western Health and Social Services Trust and where this will benefit the users of GlenOaks.

Activities Subsidise costs of a range of activities for users and prospective users. Host and provide a range of activities including musical sessions and arts based sessions for all interested users.

Charitable purposes
The organisation is established to support service users (adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities and /or people with acquired brain injuries) of Foyle Disability Resource Centre (FDRC) in the area serviced by the Western Health and Social Care Trust (“Western Trust” being referred to as “the area of benefit”) and generally to support the charitable work of FDRC.
