Public benefits
Causeway Community Tennis Club will provide a wider benefit to the whole community, than just members. As we are open to everyone, and are building relationships within our community, to encourage both young and old, to participate in sport. This will provide benefits within our community, including wider family benefits, enhancing relationships,
through better physical and mental health of participants. We also encourage families to come along and watch their children and siblings taking part, and through an inclusiveness approach, encourage them to also give it a try. Through the removal of barriers of entry including the financial burden, we are allowing everyone a chance to play tennis, also through partnership working with schools – we aim to provide a much wider impact within the community. Causeway Community Tennis Club (CCTC), aims through learning and development opportunities to provide a better environment for the whole community, through courses and building relationships within the community, we hope to provide opportunities, that will give better employment opportunities to young people through providing the opportunity to gain sporting qualifications. CCTC aims to improve the health and well being of participants, and their families within the Causeway Coast and Glens Council area. We also hope to build relationships and friendships and become a community club, where everyone feels welcome and at home. CCTC is not only building relationships between different communities, but also through different generations, we encourage participation from all generations, allowing all participants to share knowledge and life experience. Through the removal of various barriers of entry we aim to have a wide impact on the community of Causeway Coast and Glens. CCTC is run by a voluntary committee for the benefit of the whole community. These benefits are demonstrated through increasing and maintaining club numbers, through feedback at club sessions and community events. We also ask for comments and suggestions regulary, to enhance the service we offer. Also wider benefits will be seen through relationship building in the local community, and people from different backgrounds engaging. The benefits will also be demonstrated through more participation with leagues and other clubs, and tournaments we offer. There will be no harm from the purposes of our charity. Volunteers and trustees will receive training in good practice, and courses to help enable the Charity to perform its intended purposes. Training will be offered to volunteers, to enable them to work with children and young people, and be aware of challenges etc. Training may include Child Protection Training, Good Governance, Multi-skills courses - deemed to be essential to providing the activities required. In addition, a further private benefit may arise on occasion when we require specific coaching work within the community. A trustee or volunteer may be qualified to complete this training on our behalf, however, the club will review all available options and ensure the trustee is the best placed person to complete the coaching before entering into any contract or agreement in this regard. This is separate from their trusteeship and is incidental in furthering the purposes
What your organisation does
Causeway Community Tennis Club is working to reduce the barriers of entry associated with tennis including the elitism of the sport. This is achieved through making links into the local community through both schools and community groups, and working to promote tennis as a sport in areas of deprivation. We are taking tennis out into local areas,
and offering the chance to come and try tennis, attracting both young people and adults alike. This opportunity will provide not only a health and well being benefit but also the chance to come along have fun, and develop a passion for a sport. We aim to reduce the financial burden associated with tennis, and make it as sport everyone can enjoy irrespective of social background. Causeway Community Tennis Club also provides the opportunity to develop your tennis skills, but offers a development programme for not only the elite but for everyone to improve their skills and develop. Causeway Community Tennis Club are also building links with other tennis and sports related groups, and aim to be able to share relevant experiences and develop working relationships with other sporting groups.
