Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: members feel safe in an environment which they can avail of on a weekly basis; increased opportunities for social interaction; increased self esteem and self confidence of our members; improved emotional well being. Carers: allows respite and free time away from caring responsibilities
leading to improved emotional well being These benefits will be evidenced by: members keep up attendance at events; verbal feedback from members and talk time which includes visual aids for those with limited communication; involvement in and organising other events; increased engagement and interest from members. Carers give verbal feedback and continue to be involved with and support the group Because of members’ learning and physical disability there is a possibility of harm leading from this purpose. However each member has a risk assessment which includes a medical profile and a care plan is in place to address any issues. Volunteers are all trained in First Aid and Access ni checked and are all well aware of the needs of members The charity’s beneficiaries are people within the Carrickmore and surrounding area of Omagh District. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is that a parent may have a family member as a member of the group but this does not confer any privilege as all members are treated equally.
