Public benefits
The benefits of the festival are to encourage greater community involvement, to create a sense of pride in the town that the participants live and work, build confidence and create a general feel good factor within the area. Volunteering opportunities will be available aimed at all levels and abilities and to increase the skill base of the
participants. Healthier lifestyles will be encouraged through the promotion of sporting activities, schools and youth groups involvement in the community parade, educational workshops for a number of intergenerational groups and the promotion of local crafts and baking. The arts and cultural diversity will be promoted through the musical events and within the parade to encourage social interaction and inclusion. Community participation will be encouraged and ensured through evaluations, focus groups and consultations. The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include the promotion of the arts, culture and heritage through Antrim town and the associated borough through the organisation and development of the annual festival. The benefit which flows from this is a greater sense of pride in the area that participants live and work, build confidence and create a general feel good factor within the area. Benefit Demonstrated Demonstrated through the year on year increase in numbers attending the festival and those becoming directly involved in the activities. Benefactors The benefactors of our purposes is the people from Antrim town and the surrounding area and the environs of County Antrim. Harm There is no harm flowing from our purposes. Private Benefit Any private benefit is incidental; for example the raising of the profile of those groups and organisations who appear at the festival, sales from concession stall holders and increased trade in the area, however this is incidental to the main purposes of holding a festival.
What your organisation does
Antrim Festival Group is a voluntary group who aim to organise and hold a week long festival incorporating a variety of community based activities. These events include sporting outlets and activities, a community parade, musical events, educational workshops and talks, exhibitions, the promotion of arts and crafts and other fun based activities.
All events have a minimal or are free of charge in order to encourage greater participation from all members of the community.

Charitable purposes
The association is established to develop and support a spirit of community throughout Antrim, primarily through the annual festival. The festival will encourage all age groups, faiths, local groups and charities to join together to celebrate and develop the diverse communities within Antrim and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Antrim Town area, (hereinafter called the “beneficiaries”) and its environs in County Antrim (hereinafter called the ‘area of benefit’) without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, class, marital status, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to protect, preserve, and enhance the amenities of the area of benefit, and through encouraging active community participation to improve the conditions of life of the said inhabitants.
