Public benefits
The public benefit of our purpose is to educate, stimulate and increase the knowledge and skills of local people. They in turn can use these skills to enable them to benefit their own families and the wider community. Local people will learn confidence, self esteem, arts, sewing, health awareness, first aid and healthy eating etc. People living in
a rural area who would not otherwise be able to access educational or recreational activities can attend such activities close to home. This will improve the quality of life for local people isolated by financial constraints. Local people will be made more aware of their own health and well being and the health of their families. We will measure the benefits by evaluating each of the classes, courses or recreational activities which we promote. We will use appropriate evaluation forms. We will count numbers at each event and attendance sheets will be maintained. On a regular basis we will sample the opinions of participants and use this feedback as guidance. There is no harm flowing from any of the activities promoted by Slatequarry Development Assocation Ltd and no private benefit. The organisation will levy a small fee from each participant attending any of our activities. This income will go directly into the bank account of the Association which is a non-profit taking organisation.
What your organisation does
The principle aim of Slatequarry Development Association is to seek to work on behalf of Slatequarry Community on the regeneration of the Slatequarry area. In furtherance of this we offer programmes of educational and recreational activities for the residents of Slatequarry and district. We try and encourage all residents from the district to
become involved in each of our projects. We run health and well-being courses for all age groups in an attempt to improve the health and lifestyle of our residents. We also act as an agency which supports the community to identify local issues. We then try to bring local solutions to these issues.
