Public benefits
Purpose 1;Improved relationships between home and school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parent's support. This purpose does not lead to
harm. The benefit is for children at St.Francis' P.S. Charity trustees(PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefits in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2:Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. What your organisation does
We are an active PTA which organises social and fundraising events for the pupils and their families of the school-Family Movie Nights and Seasonal Craft Nights. We actively volunteer for the school regularly, helping out at events such as Holy Communion and Confirmation. We organise and provide refreshments at school events such as Halloween
Parade and Sports Days. We co-ordinate the Easter Craft Fair and Family Fun Day which provides links to other agencies within the local community. We provide an informal communication channel with the parent body and other community groups to the school. The funds we raise have been used to part- und school trips, to purchase sports equipment for school, playground games and toys and new books for classroom libraries.
