Carrickfergus Women's Forum exists to relieve poverty, need, hardship or distress, the advancement of education, the preservation and protection of health and provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare and health improvement and the protection of welfare among woman in the borough of Carrickfergus. This is achieved through the

establishment of a centre for activities, provision of educational resources and facilities, access to activities including recreational activities and access to support through social services. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes improvement in conditions for the life of the woman in the borough of Carrickfergus, to improve their health and well-being. The purpose which flows from this is to increase skill, knowledge, enjoyment and social interaction, improvement in mental and physical health. This is demonstrated through having access to resources, equipment, courses, information, professional advice which would not otherwise be available and through providing opportunities to meet and interact. The purpose will not lead to harm. The benefit is for all woman in the borough of Carrickfergus and is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. This is demonstrated through having an active group who come together weekly, increasing their participation in activities, skills and improving their health and well-being.

Carrickfergus Women’s Forum (CWF) is an established community group which supports women to access personal development and accredited training courses to develop their confidence and potential. It provides information on matters such as health, education and volunteering opportunities for women CWF provides a community based service for women

who are experiencing mental and physical health problems through a range of programmes
